2hadow is in the shop

Work has begun on the 2hadow update for RapidWeaver 3.6. As with all of the other updates, we want to bring this one up to full capacity with more options and flexibility the ever thought possible. Some of you might now be aware of the history behind our 2hadow theme. It all began in the fall of 2005 when we produced the original "Shadow" theme for RapidWeaver 3.1. That was the theme that got us started and shortly thereafter, in November of 2005, we started this store. Since then, Shadow went through many iterations, eventually being replaced by it's big brother "2hadow" (Shadow 2). 2hadow is getting old and tired. Born from a design now two and a half years old, 2hadow needs a little refreshing and a lot more flexibility. Stay tuned as we keep you posted on our old friends facelift. Shadow and 2hadow will live on.

Look for more styles

I have had a few questions come in about where to get the theme styles (.rwstyle) that I use on my showcase sites. They are now starting to show up right in the theme pages navigation. If you go to either viEw or bloop! you'll notice in the navigation that appears directly above the pinned up image of the theme you'll notice it says "Features", "Demo", "More styles", etc... Click on more styles and download only the ones you like. This feature will make it's way to all theme pages before long.

THEME UPDATE: bloop! r4 removes breadcrumb on request

For those that don't make use of RapidWeavers breadcrumb feature I have modified a few files that make the word "breadcrumb" hide when you opt out of using the option. This update only affects the index.html template and the theme plist. All other settings should be unaffected.

THEME UPDATE: viEw r2 for RapidWeaver 3.6

viEw RapidWeaver theme
viEw has been updated to work with RapidWeaver 3.6. There are a few changes and concessions in the name of progress but I think they are worth it. You now have full control over ALL color schemes from background to foreground, from links to text, from hovers to borders... everything we thought was useful to control can now change color. viEw can now adjust widths from 500px right up to 1000px.

And of course there is the usual seyDesign goodness that we like to wrap in our themes like drag n' drop interchangeable header graphics with RWmultitool, split navigation, logo placement and more...

Our 15 minutes of fame: a cameo in SCO and discounts for all

If any of you are avid podcast listeners (like me) and have subscribed to any mac related shows, chances are you've come across the name Don McAllister of ScreenCastsOnline. He's one of the podcast elite where screen casts are concerned and has set many a benchmark for others in the industry to aspire to. And it seems that everyone is trying to get him on the panel for this show and that conference, etc... That's why I was just floored when Don asked me recently if I had any RapidWeaver themes that made good use of RWmultitool (which as it turns out, happens to be our foremost consideration when developing themes). To make a long story short, seyDoggy themes have turned up in a recent ScreenCastsOnline episode (SCO0132 to be exact) covering RWmultitool, which is a complete honor as far as we are concerned. I dropped Don a note to thank him and asked if I could extend a discount code to you, my customers, so that a) you could catch our appearance in episode SCO0132, and b) because it's a great episode covering the ins and outs of RWmultitool which is so integral to our themes. Don was gracious enough to obligue. Just sign up to ScreenCastsOnline Extra using the coupon code "seydoggy" (without the quotes) and get 20% off the usual price of $49! The membership includes the next 6 months worth of shows in HD or iPod format, special members only shows plus access to over 130+ previous screencasts for immediate download. Thanks again Don!

The rights and rules according to Joe and Frank

What are my rights when I purchase a theme? I get this question a lot as do many others. It often appears in the RapidWeaver forums as well so I thought I would post my answer here for permanent record: If Joe buys a theme he can use it for whatever he wants, as many times as he wants provided that he does not become either a reseller/distributor of the theme or it's code. Joe can make a website of his own that makes him money. Joe can make a website for Frank that makes Frank money. Joe can get paid for the site he made Frank. Neither Joe nor Frank own the rights to the theme/skin/code (the "look") that makes Joes site or Franks look as sexy as they do. Therefor neither one can distribute this "look" to anyone else in any way, shape or form. If Frank wants to modify the "look" to his site he best be getting himself a copy of RapidWeaver and a copy of my theme. Otherwise he better leave it to Joe who purchased the rights to my theme in the first place. If either Joe or Frank break these rules then they both owe me their firstborn child (preferably a son because I have enough daughters already).

viEw is nearly ready for RapidWeaver 3.6

Our RapidWeaver theme, viEw, is in the final satges of it's RapidWeaver 3.6 overhaul. I am here to tell you that it is one serious upgrade from the original. You can expect to see color possiblities not previously imagined, width options and design refinements that will bring this theme to a whole new level. You can expect to see the new viEw sometime next week.
